Patrick Ring is a Managing Director at Headwaters SC, LP, a family business consulting firm headquartered in Pittsburgh and which for 35 years has served business owning families and family offices.
Mr. Ring has extensive experience on matters relating to business valuations, business acquisitions and divestitures, corporate finance, and advising business owners on matters related to the generational transition of their businesses, which can range from transfers from one generation to another, or even planned exits with family offices, or strategic or financial partners, and related monetization transactions.
L. Mitchell Vandiver, III, became president of Strategies, Inc., in 2003 following a diverse career in banking. Combined with his extensive background in finance, Mitch’s experiences ground him as a key player and leader specializing in problems of the Founder/CEO and family businesses across all industries. He speaks nationally on a range of topics, including board and governance development, strategic planning, communication and conflict management , organizational lifecycles, and succession planning within family businesses.
Mitch has also been honored as a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute with the designation of ACFBA – Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising. Mitch provides practical, insightful and provocative advice on multiple levels.
David Witherspoon is the Director of business valuation and litigation support division at Katz Abosch a Maryland accounting firm founded in 1969. David has provided consulting services to middle-market businesses for more than 15 years and specializes in business strategy, value creation, exit planning, modeling, statistical analysis, and data analytics.
David holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the Kogod School of Business at American University and a BS in Mathematics from the Virginia Military Institute. He also holds professional designations as a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor.
