How will the company be valued? Perspectives from a Private Equity Investor
The New Jersey chapter is growing and welcoming professional advisors who help business owners plan for a successful exit. As we continue to follow a case study approach addressing all of the various considerations associated with a successful exit, we welcome your attendance at our next meeting. Our ‘client’ is a partnership that wants to position itself for an exit in two to three years. As with most companies, there are some issues that need to be resolved to make the transition, and ultimate exit, a success.
Many business owners are leery of being purchased by a private equity fund due to the owners misunderstanding of how they will be initially valued. In addition, they are concerned about how the company will be operated after a purchase. The reality is that the private equity community to too large to ignore and many misconceptions can be corrected.
Cheryl Moss of Friend, Skoler & Co. will discuss with the group how a hypothetical private equity investor would view Murphy’s Metal Manufacturing. Cheryl will note the positive and negative characteristics of the company that would be considered by a private equity buyer, as well as certain steps that could be taken by the company to make itself more attractive to buyers.
This highly interactive session will allow for participation by attendees in a collaborative format. As an association of experienced advisory professionals for business owners and their companies, we are all focused on delivering the highest level of subject matter expertise to our clients and we would value your expertise and insights.
We invite you to join us for this exciting event and for the entire series this year!
To make it easy to remember, we’ll always meet on the 3rd Wednesday morning of each month through June 2018, so please set up a recurring calendar appointment now so you won’t miss an XPX breakfast!
