We are off to a great start with our 2018 case study, as we plan for a sale to key employees of North American Engineering & Consulting Firm (NAEC).
In January we opened with a review of the case and roundtable discussion of the problems and possibilities for owners, Ray and Jimmy. Our February meeting was exciting – we explored the topic of preparing the successor for ownership, heard from a minority business owner going through the process of acquiring 100% ownership, and a consultant who helps prepare sellers and buyers for the transition.
In March we explore a most critical component of successful insider sales – is there adequate cash flow? Where does it come from? How to minimize the tax bite of an insider sale? How to be fair to both the buyer and the seller?
See you then!
