How can I maximize value in the short term?

The New Jersey chapter is growing and welcoming professional advisors who help business owners plan for a successful exit. As we continue to follow a case study approach addressing all of the various considerations associated with a successful exit, we welcome your attendance at our next meeting. Our ‘client’ is a partnership that wants to position itself for an exit in two to three years. As with most companies, there are some issues that need to be resolved to make the transition, and ultimate exit, a success.

What actions can the owners of Murphy’s Metal Manufacturing take to increase operational efficiencies that will maximize the Company’s value in the short-term? Ken Drossman of Lakeview Business Consulting will lead a discussion to identify what operational efficiencies are, and which might be available to the management of Murphy’s and realistically define what “short-term” means. The presentation will highlight the principal opportunities that exist for most companies to implement near-term operational efficiencies. Discussion points will include:

    • How can operational efficiencies be value drivers?
    • Are operational efficiencies equivalent to actions that affect financial performance?
    • Does an increase in top line or bottom line growth matter more?
    • What opportunities might exist in systems, processes and controls?
    • What possibilities for operational efficiencies exist on the balance sheet?

This interactive session will promote participation by attendees in a collaborative format.

TRI-STATE SPONSORS

"At XPX, I find really great people network with, and I enjoy being able to prospect with a cadre of experienced and accomplished high level advisors, at one location, where you can learn about their expertise at a much deeper level People at XPX tend to be more worldly not only due to the nature of the M&A biz — but as they hail from multiple disciplines over their years of experience.

XPX differs from other networking learning orgs in that it maintains a heavy focus on education but also is a group where pure professionalism is weighed more highly than just prospecting, with experienced professionals looking to gain an understanding of what you do and how you do it as opposed to just making a sale.

I have developed multiple tax clients and projects, but more importantly I value the fantastic relationships that I know over time will not only produce lots of new business but enable me to confidently refer to others e.g., attorneys in the group — and enable me to look good when I recommend. I love going to XPX for the social side, for the power networking groups –one of mine splintered off into an ongoing mastermind group sharing business ideas and mindfully addressing challenges — and, of course, the learning."
