Keynote Speaker - Jeff Mortimer

Director of Investment Strategy
BNY Mellon Wealth Management

Jeffrey Mortimer is the director of investment strategy for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this role, he leads a team that sets capital market expectations and is responsible for making asset allocation recommendations.

Jeff has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff worked for Charles Schwab for 13 years in increasingly senior positions, culminating with his appointment as chief investment officer. He also worked for nearly 10 years in boutique firms in the Boston area, serving high net worth individuals and families.

Jeff is a national speaker on issues of investment strategy, the financial markets and the economy. He has been featured in numerous media outlets, including Barron’s, Fortune, Bloomberg and CNBC. Jeff also serves on the advisory board for the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College.

Speaker - Andrew Bonanno

Kohlberg & Company

Mr. Bonanno is a member of Kohlberg’s Investment Committee and is responsible for identifying, originating and qualifying new investment opportunities. Mr. Bonanno joined Kohlberg in 2009 and was named a Partner in 2016.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Bonanno was a Vice President of Business Development for the New York based Buyouts team of American Capital. Prior to that, he was with General Electric’s private equity investment arm. He is a member of the board of directors for Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists.

Mr. Bonanno received a B.A. from Connecticut College and an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Speaker- Cyrus Lam

Managing Director

Cyrus is a managing director with KPMG Corporate Finance based in New York. Cyrus has been with KPMG for over 25 years having started in India as an accountant, later transitioning to the Indian Corporate Finance Practice. In Oct 2000, Cyrus joined KPMG Corporate Finance in London, and subsequently moved to the U.S. Corporate Finance team in Dec 2006. Cyrus’ experience includes corporate finance advisory services with a focus in the technology, services and outsourcing verticals. Cyrus has significant cross-border transaction experience having worked on M&A deals in India, the U.S., the U.K., Sweden, Germany, France, Spain and the Netherlands. Cyrus specializes in the technology and support services vertical with a focus on Internet and online marketing companies and Technology enabled services businesses.

Speaker - Polly Mack

Regional Director
The Riverside Company

Polly Mack is a regional director of Origination at The Riverside Company. Her position involves sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities and building relationships with investment bankers and business owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Ms. Mack works across all of Riverside’s North American private equity funds to support deal origination for both platform and add-on investments.

Prior to joining Riverside, Ms. Mack worked on the Private Equity and Venture Capital team at Gerson Lehrman Group. She also served as Chief Strategist and Director of Special Projects for, a global online reputation management and digital privacy protection firm, where she oversaw the management of the firm’s customer engagements. Prior to, Ms. Mack served as a Private Equity Research Analyst with Hall Capital Partners.

Ms. Mack holds a BA in International Relations and French from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Speaker - Richard P. Prestegaard

Richard P. Prestegaard joined High Road in 2007 and leads the Firm’s dedicated deal sourcing effort. Prior to joining High Road, Rich was an investment banker in the consumer products and retail industry group at Barclays Capital. Rich is an experienced corporate finance and business development professional and an active member of the ACG New York chapter (Association for Corporate Growth). Rich received a B.A. in Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1991 and an M.B.A degree in Finance and Accounting from the Stern School of Business at New York University in 1996.

Ramsey W. Goodrich is a Managing Partner at Carter Morse & Goodrich and brings more than 25 years of experience advising business owners of privately held middle market companies on M&A and capital transactions. Over the course of his career, Mr. Goodrich has advised on more than 100 transactions totaling more than $3.5 billion in value. 

He is an active speaker on M&A and Capital transactions, having given dozens of presentations to corporations, associations and trade organizations and is a regular speaker at industry conferences around the country. In 2019, he was awarded the Thomas Farrell Memorial Award from M&A Advisor given “to the individual chosen by their peers to have made the most generous contribution to the advancement of our industry.”

Robert Gerstel is the CEO of A.G. Adjustments (AGA). Bob’s father Al Gerstel founded AGA in 1972. Bob began his career in the collection industry at the kitchen learning the nuances of the business through the simple discussions at the dinner table. During summers and vacations from high school and through college at SUNY Farmingdale he would work in all facets of the “family business”

In 1990 Bob’s father passed away and he ascended to CEO of the company.

He is a member of the Commercial Law League of America as well as Platinum member of the Credit Research foundation. Bob is also a founding member of the Commercial Collection Agency Of America. He is a frequent panelist in the organizations as well as frequent speaker to credit departments around the country as it relates to best practices in the collection arena and proper collection techniques.

Speaker - Terry Hannafin

Terence Hannafin joined Carter Morse & Goodrich in 2019 as a Managing Director and is involved with all the firm’s corporate finance activities including debt and equity financings, recapitalizations and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to CMG, he spent 11 years at de Visscher & Co. and Family Capital Growth Partners.

Mr. Hannafin currently serves as VP of XPX TriState Region and is a member of the Family Firm Institute, a leading association for professionals serving the family enterprise field.

Mr. Hannafin holds a BS in Finance from Boston College where he was a member of its football team.

Speaker - Eilis Meagher

Eilis Meagher is an associate in the Corporate Group at Finn Dixon & Herling LLP in Stamford, CT. Eilis represents private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, venture capital funds and private companies in leveraged buy-outs, control investments, minority financings, dispositions, joint ventures and related transactions. Eilis also advises clients on general corporate and securities law matters. Eilis received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and her B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance, from Boston University.

Tara Thompson Popernik was named the Director of Research for the Wealth Strategies Group in 2011 and is responsible for leading research initiatives on investment planning and asset allocation issues facing high-net-worth families, family offices, and endowments and foundations. Previously, she was a wealth management specialist, and before that she was a senior investment planning analyst. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Tara was a paralegal in the Capital Markets Group of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. She earned a BA with honors in comparative literature from Dartmouth College. Tara is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

Speaker - Allan Grafman

Allan has been focused on growth companies for several decades. As founder of AMV he has served as an executive at companies like Disney, ABC, Hallmark, Archie Comics and others.

In venture capital and private equity his focus has been monetizing portfolio companies.

As an investment banker his focus is M & A transactions, exits and capital raises

Allan has served on 9 boards, including 3 public, 3 PE and 3 VC boards.

Speaker - Thomas Livaccari

Tom began his career in wealth management in 2002 with the mission of bringing a different perspective to managing the financial affairs of ultra high net worth entrepreneurs. 

Tom began his career as an accountant and later a technology consultant at Arthur Anderson. He later co-founded and helped build one of the world's first end-to-end internet consulting firms and was part of the senior management team that took public and then sold the business to a major telecom company. Tom's background in accounting, consulting and as an entrepreneur, gives him a unique perspective on the needs of clients and their families.

Tom has an M.S. in accounting from the NYU Stern School of Business and a B.S. in finance from Boston College's Carroll School of Management. 

Speaker - Mike Minihan

Mike Minihan is the Managing Partner of BX3, a fully integrated consultancy that helps promising start-ups build businesses around great ideas, and then raise growth capital to get to the next level. Mike joined BX3 after an entrepreneurial first career in taxation, primarily as a co-founder of WTP Advisors, a boutique international tax firm that Mike and his partners sold in 2014.

Mike holds both a BBA (Finance) and a JD from Pace University, and an LLM in Taxation from New York University. His entrepreneurial feats were chronicled in Fortune’s “David vs. Goliath,” and he has spoken before Congress on taxation issues, as well as written numerous articles and lectured copiously, including as a visiting professor at Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business.

Warren D. Abkowitz, JD, CPA, is a partner with KPMG LLP and manages the High Net Worth Individual/Family Office and Private Client Services Practice in New York. He formerly ran the Financial Services Tax Practice, as a partner, for a National CPA firm. He has 27 years of overall experience providing tax advisory and compliance services to various clients and industries.

Warren has extensive skill representing high net worth individuals, various financial services funds and businesses, as well as family owned private businesses. He has extensive experience working with high-net-worth individuals and trusts, as well as, traditional partnerships, corporations (both public and private). He provides business consulting, planning (Federal, state and estate), and compliance services to all types of clients and business owners. He has broad experience across the various industries and has worked with start-up businesses as well as large multinational businesses and their related family ownership structures.
